I make small, intimate photographs of spaces I have come to know during long walks on land that holds personal histories. Like tracing the profiles of my children's faces, I know their outlines by heart, but there are always surprises. By continually connecting to familiar landscapes, much is revealed through time and purposeful seeing. I have become a gatherer of nuance and subtlety and my images reflect the view of a woman and a mother in tune with the small details and exquisite secrets of land in which I am rooted. The earth is my mirror and I am reflected in it. The revisiting of place allows for a friendship of sorts, where trust and dedication unlock the unseen and over looked spaces in both the observed and the observer. These are fragile connections, wordless and quiet, but profound in their revelation.
